1 John 4:17NKJV
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment;
because as He is, so are we in this world.
I love this version of the bible. So, if God says as He is, so we are, We are not allowed to think less of ourselves or see ourselves as the world sees us with all it’s many stereotypes. I am a Child of God, and I was created in the image and likeness of the Almighty Father. Gen 1:27 Amp; So, God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
I was created for good works and I must start to manifest the good works and walk with my head
held high knowing that I know who I am in Christ.
Who am I? Finding Your Identity in God.
The question of identity is a fundamental human quest. We search for belonging, purpose, and a sense of worth. In a world that bombards us with messages about what we should be and how we should look, it’s easy to feel lost. But the Bible offers a profound truth: our ultimate identity is found in God.
Here are some powerful verses that reveal who we are in Christ:
Created in His Image: Genesis 1:27 declares, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” This means we have inherent value and dignity because we reflect the character of our Creator.😇
Chosen Children: Ephesians 1:5 says, “He predestined us for adoption as sons by himself through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace.” God doesn’t choose us based on merit, but out of his immense love. We are adopted into His family, becoming His beloved children.❤️
Redeemed: Romans 6:6 reminds us, “For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.” Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are free from the bondage of sin and shame.💃
New Creation: 2 Corinthians 5:17 proclaims, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” When we accept Christ, we become a new person, empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a life pleasing to God.💖🤗💕
Loved and Lavished: 1 John 3:1 states, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” God’s love for us is unconditional and extravagant. We are worthy of His love, no matter what.
These are just a few of the many verses that speak to our identity in Christ. Finding your identity in God is a journey, but it’s a journey filled with purpose, love, and freedom.
